The Life Story

Armando Rodriguez was born on January 1, 1926 in Dallas, Texas, the son of James Rodriguez and Janet Rodriguez.  Armando attended Woodrow Wilson High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Celeste. He continued his education attending Dallas County Community College. Shortly after graduation Armando and Celeste had a small beautiful wedding with their family and closest friends in attendance.

Armando and Celeste relocated to San Antonio where he worked as a City Surveyor for nearly 40 years. Armando and Celeste raised three wonderful children together – Luis, Camila and Carmen.  Armando especially enjoyed watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys with his family. Sundays were football days at the Rodriguez household, and Armando remained a Cowboys fan throughout his life.

Aside from his cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, Armando’s favorite pastime was deer hunting. Armando spent countless hours in the woods during each hunting season, regardless of the weather. Every year, Armando and his closest friends would take a weekend trip to his family’s cabin. They would spend their days hunting and playing card games and enjoying each other’s company.

Armando retired a few years early so that he could spend more time with his grandchildren, Michael and Elena. He loved to attend their sporting events and take them on weekend camping adventures. Armando will be dearly missed by his family and friends who will always remember his love of sports and the outdoors.
